Superspeed is a glitched state that allows Link to walk much faster that normal.

Similar to the glitched state you get from the spindash and itemdashes, Link can not his sword.

Works on

Exclusive to version JP 1.0 only.

How to perform it

First, you need to arm superspeed by performing a Spindash, Hookdash or a Medalliondash.

When armed, you only need to touch a climbable stairway or ladder, and from there walk into a normal ground tile to get superspeed.

You can cancel this state by pressing A, screen transitioning, or jumping off of a ledge, to name a few.

Movement pattern

In superspeed, link moves 4 pixels per frame cardinally. When holding a diagonal, link moves in the following patterns:

  • 3, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 2 left and up
  • 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 3 right and down

these are independent, meaning that if you are holding downleft, you will move 3 pixels left and 2 pixels down on the first frame, then 3 and 3, then 2 and 2, etc.
