WR Route
The optimal route for this category is as follows, from Xelna's notes. For reference, fsg's console WR run.
A video tutorial covering the inputs described below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2P2IoqvL3g
(NOTE: This tutorial uses the old 1 frame clip method and does not go over citrus inside the cave)
An explanation video by Thunderbolt, about the inputs used for his WR run on Switch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzUASO8LZno
1st part: The clip North-East of Link's house
Position yourself at the corner north east of Link's house.
THEN...
^> + v> (x4) All for 1 frame
THEN...
^> for 2-5 frames
FOLLOWED BY...
v> for 1 frame (no more)
THEN...
Go slightly ^ and start walking <
Link will jump off a ledge...
Keep walking < like in the video
2nd part: After the screen transition
<v for 1 frame
THEN...
Hold ^ until Link jumps in the water
Wait until he respawns then go < a little
THEN...
Walk ^ and slightly <
When Link gets covered by the trees, start walking v
Enter the cave
Make sure you scroll the screen down enough to avoid a painfully slow cave transition
3rd part: Exploration Glitch from inside the cave
NOTE: There is a different version of the following clip which requires less frame perfect inputs. See the Citrus clip page for the inputs. Simply tap < along the slope to find the starting coordinate (OR SOMEONE CAN PUT THEM RIGHT HERE)
Outdated 1f clip inputs
Hold <v into the corner to position Link
ONCE INTO POSITION...
<^ + v (x6)
THEN...
Hold < until Link can't move any further
THEN...
<^ until Link is lined up with the 2nd little bump sticking out of the diagonal wall
FROM THERE...
Hold <v into Exploration Glitch
Keep <v held down all the way until the Hyrule Castle music starts playing
THEN...
Hold < until the Ganon music starts playing
THEN...
Hold ^ all the way to the Triforce room
The End
Swim Route
The swim route is a much easier and more beginner friendly route while only being ~5 seconds slower than the WR route. Video tutorial by SiriusCord: https://youtu.be/-DM_hiHUQag
